animals need help

Our sweet girl is home.   Thanks John and Kerri

We have learned a few things about Carmen and hope it helps to find her the right home.  She needs an experienced adopter.  She needs someone who can handle a big girl.  Someone that will take things slow.   Too much too fast does not work with this girl.  She needs time to bond and to trust, so she will listen.   When she gets the scent of a squirrel or even a kitty it's hard to stop her.  Her nose takes over and she just looses her brain.   :)  She does very well with us.  She knows us now and we have become her family.  She listens well and does everything she can to please.     We have found she does very well on a harness.    She is very gentle and loving and she is  extremely sensitive.   She is still shy with  people she doesn't know and she needs  lots of tlc.   She definitely needs a big fenced yard.  Lots of room to play, preferably in the country.  A male doggie companion would also help her to adjust.    Firmly believe the best way to train and help a dog is to have another good dog do the training.  We know there is someone who will love this gorgeous girl as much as we do.

What a beauty Carmen is and she is just as sweet as she is beautiful. She is actually pretty quiet for a hound. She sits patiently and waits her turn to go out and play. Carmen really loves her bed and her play yard. She is much more comfortable being right next to us than than taking off to explore. That's different for a hound. :) She is very afraid of loud noises and terrified of guns. Maybe that's how she got lost in the mountains. A kind soul found her wondering alone, cold and hungry. We have no idea what kind of life she had before. All we know is she loves her life now. She loves her people and her new doggie friends. She loves tummy rubs and those gorgeous ears definitely need lots of scratching. :) She is a happy girl. Carmen is a Coon Hound and she is about 18 months old. She has been spayed, is up to date on her vaccinations and she is micro chipped. We are working on potty training and she has mastered the doggie door.
Carmen would love to have an inside home. A fenced yard is a must. We don't want her to get lost ever again. Please call Lorrie 208 339 0130 or email for an application
